The Perfect Spring Break Week ♥:Tip 1 – The Perfect Snack

UF PINK wants you to have the perfect spring break, and we have the tips to give you the perfect week! Be prepared for a different post each day leading up to Spring Break and get excited!

Tip 1 – The Perfect Snack

Chocolate Covered Strawberries Filled with Cheesecake

What you need:

• A carton of strawberries (they are on sale now at Publix!)
• Cheesecake filling (or you can make your own, but that seems stressful)
• Chocolate for dipping (Baker’s Chocolate melts better)

Directions (don’t worry, it’s easy):

1. Wash the strawberries.

2. Core the strawberries. I found it easier to cut the tops off and then cored them with a knife. But if you have an easier way, then do it!! (And let us know!)

3. Put the cheesecake filling in a plastic bag and cut the tip off. 

4.Squeeze the cheesecake filling into the cored strawberries (trust me, you want as much cheesecake filling in there as possible, it makes them SUPER rich). 

5. Melt the chocolate. I melted it in the microwave, put it in for 30 seconds and stir after each time until it is completely melted. 

6. Dip the rounded end of each strawberry into the chocolate and put on a plate.

• Don’t dip the side with the cheesecake or the filling might spill out. 

7. Drizzle any leftover chocolate over the cheesecake side.

8. Let the final product sit in the freezer for 30 minutes and you are ready to eat!

Spring Break DIY Bathing Suit Cover-up

Despite what the latest cold front to hit Gainesville might lead you to believe, spring break is right around the corner. Dust off your bikinis and flip-flops because we have less than two weeks to be beach-ready! 

You’ve already purchased your latest VS PINK bathing suit and beach bag, so the only thing you’re missing is a cute cover-up to go along with it. Get some of your girls together and DIY using this tutorial from the blog Adventures of a Middle Sister.

Materials:

• 1 T-shirt at least one size bigger than you usually wear 
• Needle and thread in a similar color

Step 1: Lay your shirt flat. Cut the sleeves off about ¼ inch below the underarm seam. Save them for later!

Step 2: Flip your shirt to the back and make the sleeve holes bigger only on the back side (this makes your shirt more of a racerback).

Step 3: Flip the shirt back to the front and cut the entire collar off about an inch lower than the seam. You may end up cutting more off depending on how low you want the front to be.

Step 4: On the back, cut a straight, horizontal line below the collar completely through the racerback, but don’t panic! Cut the bottom part into three strips that line up with the bottom of the cuts you made from the sleeves.

Step 5: Tug the strips to make them a bit longer and braid up to the top. Sew them together so the braid doesn’t come undone.

Step 6: Sew the braid to the center of the back of your collar. Cut a piece from one of the leftover sleeves and use it to tie around where the braid meets the collar. Make sure you sew it in place.

So in one afternoon you can take an oversized shirt and make it into a super cute cover-up perfect for the pool or the beach! Layer it over your best bikini, grab some sunscreen and have a perfectly PINK spring break!

Bra Crawl for Bralettes!

Hello PINK Nationers!

We are kicking off this Spring semester with a Bra Crawl for Bralettes event! Thursday, January 24 from 11 am- 1:30 pm, 80 lucky ladies will take home a PINK Lace Bralette!

This bra crawl is like nothing we've ever done before! We are incorporating our Viddy, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts to form one interactive experience!

Here's how it will work:

1. We will post the first location using our Viddy account. Five minutes after the first location is posted, the Viddy will be posted on the Facebook account.

2. Once you get to the first location, you will have to tweet the "secret code" that our PINK team members will give you. After you unlock the next clue, you will be given a pink ticket that you will take to the next location.

3. Once you find our PINK team members, they will tell you what task you need to complete in order to unlock the clue for the last stop! You will receive a sweet treat with a "passport" that you will show at the last stop. I'll give you a hint; you must use Instagram at this stop (photo shoot)!

4. At the last location, you will show us your pink ticket and passport from the previous stops to retrieve your oh-so-comfy lace bralette! You need both to get the prize :)

*All stations will be on campus

If you do not have a smart phone with capabilities to download these apps, we suggest that you go with a group of friends who do! Bra crawling with friends is fun! (Each person will still need to receive thier own ticket and passport)

Join UF PINK for Spring 2013!

We are now accepting applications to be a part of PINK at UF for our Spring 2013 semester! Positions include:

• PINK Street Team 
• PINK Social Media Team 
• PINK Event and Blog Photographer 

Please read below to see the expectations and requirements that corresponds with each position. 

As a Street Team Member you will:

- Help plan and execute events and contests on campus

- Promote events and the PINK brand through advertising, social media and marketing initiatives like tabling and flyering

- Dedicate 5 hours a week to PINK activities

       Requirements:

• Highly motivated, involved and responsible
• Be available to participate the full Spring 2013 semester
• Should have an interest in marketing, communications, fashion/merchandising, public relations, event planning
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

As a Social Media Team Member you will:

- Help raise awareness about PINK via social media

-Help create content and campaigns for our social media outlets and blog

- Increase our reach and impact on social media outlets

      Requirements:

• Highly motivated, involved and responsible
• Be available to participate the full Spring 2013 semester
• Proficient on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Have an interest in social media management or SEO

As a PINK Event and Blog Photographer you will:

- Take photos and videos at all PINK events

- Apply principles of photography to take photos for our blog and social media outlets

      Requirements:

• Must have your own camera
• Have an interest in event or fashion photography
• Have flexible availability
• Have experience in photography

The ultimate PINK girl is intelligent, creative,  enthusiastic, fashion-forward, dependable and outgoing on campus!
